Conference Championships

Green Bay +8.5 -108  ($540 to win $500)

I fully expect Seattle to come away with the victory but Green Bay's not getting enough respect. Rodgers injury (I think he'll be effective) combined with the Seahawks being the defending champs, playing the best down the stretch, and being at home where they won by over 11 points per game this season is making bettors forget how good the Packers are and what a gutsy win they had over the Cowboys last week. I'll take what I see as an overlay.

New England -6.5 -115  ($575 to win $500)

The Colts went into Denver last week and easily beat the Broncos 24-13, while the Patriots escaped with a win at home over the Ravens. Upon closer examination, Indy beat a Broncos offense in disarray as Peyton Manning couldn't hit an open receiver all night and Denver displayed poor execution, poor coaching and no heart. New England had to rally from two 14-point deficits against a Baltimore team that is tougher than the Colts, and a Baltimore team that has the playoff formula down, especially in New England. The mental toughness Brady and the Pats displayed to come back and win that game will serve them well in this one. Patriots are 3-0 vs Luck by an average margin of 26 points. Luck is getting better and better but I don't think they're ready to go any further this year. They've already taken that next step making it to the final 4 and I think next year sets up better for them to challenge for the Lombardi. Pats are in Super Bowl title or bust mode.
